KITS Image Annotation [WIN10]

This feature allows the user to personalize details of the project using image annotations on a KITS rendered 2D image.

After the project is rendered, clicking Edit will open the annotation feature.

You can also edit any previously rendered images by clicking on HD Render and then clicking on View Previous Renderings.

In the KITS Renderings thumbnail gallery, select the rendering you wish to edit by Double-Clicking the Thumbnail. Then clicking Edit (as above.)

The rendering will open with an editing menu on the right.

The Editing Mode contains annotation tools that will help you detail your rendered images.  A tooltip will display when hovering over any tool and will highlight blue when selected.

Using the Editing Mode

Select:

The Select arrow has multiple functions. When active, you can click any currently added single item (left image) or create a freeform selection area (right image) by clicking the left mouse button and holding while dragging your mouse around an area to select multiple items. The keyboard shortcuts CTRL+C will allow you to Copy the item and CTRL-V will allow you to Paste the item on the rendering.

 Undo and Redo:

The Undo and Redo tools allow you to reverse your last action or restore your last action.  You can reverse more than one action and restore up to as many actions created.  The keyboard shortcuts CTRL+Z will allow you to Undo and CTRL-Y will allow you to Redo.

Clear All:

The Clear All tool simply clears all currently added annotations. Any previously saved annotations will remain intact.

Pen:

The Pen tool allows you to create pen strokes on the rendering. Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to create a pen stroke.  When selected, Pen Color, Pen Thickness and Object Visibility options will appear below.

Clicking on Pen Color will open a submenu of color options and varying transparencies to select from.

Click and hold while sliding Pen Thickness to the right increases the thickness, with sliding to the left decreasing thickness.

Click and hold while sliding Object Visibility to the left will gradually decrease the object’s visibility, with sliding to the right increasing visibility.

Highlighter:

The Highlighter tool allows you to create highlighter strokes on the rendering.  Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to create a highlighter stroke.  When selected, Pen Thickness and Highlighter color options will appear below.

Click and hold while sliding Pen Thickness to the left decreases the thickness, with sliding to the right increasing thickness.  Selected Highlighter color will change the color of the highlighter stroke.

Eraser:

The Eraser tool is multifunctional. When selected, Eraser Type options will appear below.

Click on any currently added annotation or Left click and hold while dragging the mouse will erase any pen or highlighter stroke based on eraser type selection. Keyboard shortcut DEL button will also erase any currently added annotation.

Using Eraser Type allows you to select Partial Stroke (middle image) to delete sections of a pen or highlight stroke or Full Stroke (right image) to delete the entire stroke.

Text Box:

The Text Box allows you to add text to the rendering. The icon will change (left image) and Font Options (right image) will also appear. Click anywhere on the rendering to create the text box.

Clicking on Font Color will open a submenu of color options and varying transparencies to select from.

Click and hold while sliding Object Visibility to the left will gradually decrease the text visibility, with sliding to the right increasing visibility (See REFERENCE IMAGE below.)

Selecting a Text Style:  (See REFERENCE IMAGE below.)

Bold – Creates a thicker bold text of the selected font type.

Italic – Creates a slanted text of the selected font type.

Underline – Creates an underline below selected font type.

Strikethrough – Creates a line through the text of the selected font type.

Alignment – Aligns the text either to the left, right or center of the created text box.

Clicking on Font (left image) and clicking on Font size (right image) will open a submenu of font style options and font size options.

Reference Image:

Arrow:

Clicking the Arrow tool allows you to draw an arrow vertically or horizontally on the rendering. Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to draw an arrow.

When selecting the Arrow tool, Line Color, Fill Color, Pen Thickness, Object Visibility and Scale options will appear below.

Clicking on Line Color will open a submenu of color options and varying transparencies to select from. The color selected will apply to the outline of the arrow.

Clicking on Fill Color will open a submenu of color options and varying transparencies to select from. The color selected will apply to the fill color of the arrow.

Click and hold while sliding Pen Thickness to the right increases the thickness, with sliding to the left decreasing thickness.

Click and hold while sliding Object Visibility to the left will gradually decrease the object’s visibility, with sliding to the right increasing visibility.

Click and hold while sliding the Scale to the left will gradually decrease the arrow’s size, with sliding to the right increasing size.

Five-pointed and Six-pointed Stars:

Clicking the Star tools allows you to draw a five-pointed or six-pointed star on the rendering.  Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to create a star.  When selecting the Star tools, Line Color, Fill Color, Pen Thickness and Object Visibility options will appear below.

Bubble:

Clicking the Bubble tool allows you to draw an enclosed bubble on the rendering. Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to create a bubble.  When selected, Line Color, Fill Color, Pen Thickness, Object Visibility and Radius will appear below.

Click and hold while sliding the Radius to the left will gradually decrease the bubble size, with sliding to the right increasing size.

Rectangle and Circle:

Clicking the Rectangle or Circle tool allows you to draw a rectangular box or circular shape on the rendering.  Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to create a rectangle or circle. When selected, Line Color, Fill Color, Pen Thickness and Object Visibility will appear below.

Line:

Clicking the Line tool allows you to create horizontal or vertical lines on the rendering. Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to create a line.  When selected, Line Color, Line Thickness and Object Visibility options will appear below.

Linear Dimension:

Clicking the Linear Dimension tool allows you to create horizontal or vertical linear dimension lines with extensions and text to detail an approximate measurement on the rendering. Left click and hold while dragging the mouse to create a linear dimension. Click in the text box and enter your details. When selected, Line Color, Font Color, Object Visibility, Text Style, Font and Font size, and Scale options will appear.

Save:

Clicking on Save will prompt a window with save options:

Save – Saves and replaces the original rendering.

Save as Copy – Will create a saved copy without replacing the original rendering.

Cancel – Will cancel the action to save.
