Surface Device Requirements & Accessories
The KITS collaborator for Windows 10 is compatible with all devices in the Surface family. For optimal results, we recommend the Surface Pro – Intel Core i7 (256GB SSD / 8GB RAM).
If you’re on a budget, the Surface Pro – Intel Core i5 (128GB SSD / 4GB RAM) is available at a lower price point and is an appropriate option if the device is not your primary laptop/tablet in one. Keep in mind, the more hard disk space and RAM available, the better performance you will experience.
We recommend purchasing the Surface Pen and keyboard (either a Surface Signature Type Cover or a generic USB keyboard) for optimal performance.
To speed up your sync time, we suggest picking up the Surface Ethernet Adapter . This will significantly reduce your wait time while syncing catalogs so you can get to the fun part of building layouts faster.
Downloading and Installing
The KITS collaborator is compatible with Apple’s iPad/iPad Pro, Microsoft Surface devices and any laptop or desktop running Windows 10. First you will need to download the program on your preferred device. For iPad users, here’s how to download the KITS Mobile app from the App Store. If you have a Microsoft Surface or laptop/desktop running the latest version of Windows 10, click here to download the application and follow the installation instructions.
Once you have successfully installed The KITS collaborator, all you need to do is login with the credentials our Support Team sent over via email.
Syncing Catalogs
Before you can start creating unique furniture layouts, you will first need to sync (download) manufacturer catalogs to your device. Check out our Syncing Manufacturer Catalogs article to help walk you through the process. Keep in mind, the more catalogs you sync at once the longer it will take for the sync to complete.
Starting a New Project
To start a new project tap on the “Plus” icon, this will open the Scene Builder. From here you will build layouts, specify furniture pieces, create renderings, and share quick sheets. There are a lot of impressive features packed into the Scene Builder, which also means there is a lot to learn.
