How to Set Up Standards Manually I – Intro

Standards are the unique identifier of products in SnapTracker.

Each Standard is a unique entry within each Customer Number. For example, if you use PNL001 to describe a basic panel size, PNL001 will always refer to that panel for that particular customer.  The Standard may be repeated within other customer numbers, but the Standard does not have to refer to the same product.

It is important to always select the correct Customer Number when setting up Standards.

We highly recommend that you get familiar with the SnapTracker terminology before setting up Standards.

This tutorial post outlines the process of creating a Standard manually.

Step-by-step instructions

From the left navigation, select SetupStandard Setup.

The Standard Setup screen displays.

Select Standard Product.

The Standard Product screen displays.

This is where you can set up a new Standard manually.

Note: The fields with red triangles are mandatory and must be filled out.

From the Select a Customer drop-down selection box, select the Customer Number under which you would like to create a new Standard.

In the Enter a Standard box, enter the new Standard you wish to create.

Note: The Standard must be unique and cannot already exist for the selected Customer.

You can then enter the following information regarding the Standard:

  • Standard Class
  • Standard Tier
  • Inventory Type
  • Catalog No.
  • Manufacturer
  • Catalog ID
  • Standard Description
  • List Price
  • etc.

Click Create at the bottom of the page. The Standard is created.

Tips

After the Standard is created, a new button “Go to KiTS” displays for users with a KiTS license to further specify the Standard.

You may proceed to complete the Standard setup with User Defined fields, Options and Finishes, and Product Images.

As an alternative to setting up Standards manually, SnapTracker also supports creating standards via SIF import.  It is the quicker and easier way of creating Standards because it takes full advantage of the vendor catalogs to create new Standards, enabling you to upload multiple, fully specified Standards at one time.
