How To Create a Custom Description for a Standard?

Did you know that you can create a Custom Description for any Standard? There are two different options available to view product when a user is created:

  • Manufacturer description
  • Custom description

The custom description is available so that you can tailor Standard descriptions to users that are not familiar with the manufacturer descriptions and short forms.
For example, a manufacturer description for a worksurface that says “Worksurface, Corner, flush grommet, 36x36x24x24x1-1/4, Straight Front” may not mean a lot to an end user with little or no furniture knowledge. Alternatively, you can use a custom description and enter a more user-friendly description for furniture novices. A custom description for the worksurface may read something like this: Corner Worksurface with straight front. Grommet included. 24” deep x 36” wide.

Custom descriptions can also use basic HTML coding to change the color, size and type of font displayed in the Inquiry screens.
This section outlines how to set up Standard custom descriptions.
