How to Create a Building

The Building screen lists all the buildings you operate for customers and your own facilities.  Each Building is associated to a Building Type when the Building is created.

This post outlines the steps involved in setting up a new Building in SnapTracker.

Step-by-step instructions

From the main navigation bar on the left, select Setup, then Building Setup.

Here is where you can create a new Building.

  1. In the Enter a Building box, type the Building Code. We recommend using a combination of alphabet letters and numbers, such as WHSE001.
  2. From the Building Type drop-down selection box, select the appropriate Building Type.

Enter the basic information of the Building using the fields below, such as NameAddress and Contact.

3. Click Create.

The new Building is created.

Note:  The In Use Indicator allows you to flag all buildings currently in use.  The default is Yes whenever a new Building is added. The Smart Key Indicator and Registration Number are not currently in use.

The Storage Indicator defines whether a Building is being used as either storage or is a customer facility by a Yes or No answer.  This flag is set at the Building Type level.  It is present here for informational purposes only.

The Transfer to Building defines whether the Building is shown in the requisition check out process as a building stock product can be transferred to.
