How to Create a New Company
SnapTracker requires at least one Company Code in the system. After the Company Code is created, you can modify the information and upload a Company Logo. This post outlines how to set up a Company and upload an image for the Company logo in SnapTracker.
Customer accounts are created under a Company in SnapTracker. The Company enables you to organize Customers into different divisions or sectors within the site.
Step-by-step instructions
From the left navigation, select Utilities>System Setup.
The System Setup screen displays.
From the main part of the screen, click Company.
The Company screen displays.
This is where you can create a new Company.
- In the Enter a Company Code box, enter a single character as the company code. You can use any alphanumeric value (e.g. enter “A”).
- Enter the basic information of your company using the fields below, such as Name and Address.
- In the System Contact Email text box enter the email of the system administrator (a.k.a. the Gatekeeper) and in the Order Contact Email text box enter the email of the main personnel for receiving orders in. (Multiple email addresses can be entered as long as they are separated by a semi colon).
- Click Create.
The Company is created.
Once the Company is created, you can upload a logo for the Company. Uploading a company logo is optional. If there is an image uploaded, the logo displays on some of the printed reports generated from SnapTracker such as the different Inventory Availability Reports.
To upload a logo, follow these steps:
- From the Company Logo section, select Choose File.
- Browse your local computer for the image you want to upload and click Open File.
- Click Upload File.
Note: The file size for the logo is 120 pixels wide x 50 pixels high. We recommend the image format to be JPEG (or JPG).
Tips
Company Code Z comes defaulted within SnapTracker at the time of installation.
If you use a Company Code in your business system, you may want to use the same one in SnapTracker for consistency.
The maximum number of Company Codes that SnapTracker can hold is 36. Once the Company Code is created, the value cannot be updated. Other information such as name, address, email addresses can be updated.
We recommend that you co-brand your company logo with you customer’s logo on your SnapTracker interface through Template Customization, as it is a good way to maintain a consistent corporate presence.
