How to Deliver an Asset vs. Like Items Manually
There are two ways to deliver products: manually (i.e. on the computer) or via PDA.
Once an item is delivered, the item is taken out of the Customer’s inventory and the Quantity on Hand of the Standard is reduced by one.
This tutorial post outlines the process of manually delivering Asset items and Like items.
Step-by-step instruction
From the main navigation bar on the left, select Movement.
The Movements screen displays. Select Deliver.
The Deliver An Item screen displays. You can use this screen to deliver both Asset and Like items.
Make sure the correct Customer Number displays in the top right corner by answering “whose inventory am I delivering”. You can use the Select a Customer drop-down box to choose the correct Customer.
Note that all fields marked with the red triangle are mandatory and must be filled out.
Delivering an Asset item
Assets are tracked at the single item level with a unique serial number assigned to each item.
To deliver an Asset item, first select the Standard of the Asset using the Enter a Standard box. If you are typing in the Standard (instead of performing a Product Search), remember to click Get Record.
You will then need to identify and select the serial number of the piece delivered, under the Serial No. drop-down selection box.
Once the Serial Number is selected, the Building, Location, Condition and Quantity information of the piece is automatically populated on the screen.
Click Deliver at the bottom of the page.
A pop-up screen displays, indicating the Asset item has been successfully delivered.
Delivering a Like item
To deliver a Like item, you need to first select the Standard using the Enter a Standard box.
If the Inventory Type of the selected Standard is Like, the Standard is automatically populated in the Serial No. field. You will then need to select the Building, Location and Condition of the Like item(s) you wish to deliver using the drop-down selection boxes.
Based on your selection, the available Quantity of the Like item populates automatically in the Quantity field. You may only enter a quantity lower than the displayed number; otherwise, an error message:
occurs.
Type in a Quantity for the Like item, and click Deliver at the bottom of the page.
A pop-up screen displays, indicating the Like item has been successfully delivered
Did you know?
After an Asset item is delivered, its transaction history remains in the SnapTracker and is tracked by its serial number. You can access the Item Transaction History of the product on the Item Transaction History screen.
In addition to receiving and delivering items manually, you are also able to transfer items on the computer.
