How to Enable Swatches For Display in Inquiry

You can choose whether or not to display swatches of the different options and finishes when displaying products in a Product Catalog.  Displaying Swatches is a simple and effective way to enhance the appeal of a Product Catalog.

There are two ways of enabling the swatches: within the Standard Options and Finishes screen or within the Global Adjustment screen. When enabling swatches in the Standard Options and Finishes screen, you can enable the swatches for a single Standard at a time.  When using Global Adjustments, you can enable swatches for multiple Standards at once.

This tutorial post outlines the steps involved in enabling swatches in the Standard Options and Finishes screen.  It also outlines how to upload images for the swatches.

Step-by-step instructions

From the left navigation, select Setup>Standard Setup>Options and Finishes.

This is where Swatches are enabled. If they are enabled, they display along with the Standard in Picture Search and Product Catalogs.

  1. From the Select a Customer drop-down, select the  Customer Number.
  2. In the Enter a Standard text box, enter the Standard by typing or doing a Standard Search. The selected Standard and its options and finishes display on the screen.
  3.  In the Display Swatch column select the check-box beside the Option you want the image to display for.
  4. Click Update Display Swatch to save the changes.

If the product image was returned from KiTS /SnapTracker Catalog Management, the Swatch images display in the first column.

You can also upload the Swatch image on this screen.

Click on the thumbnail image (i.e. first column) of the Option you would like to add an image to.

The BOM Image Upload screen displays.

You can upload a small and a large image for the Swatch.

  1. In the Small Image File section, click Choose File and browse your local computer for the image.
  2. In the Large Image File section, click Choose File and browse your local computer for the image.
  3. Click Upload. The files upload.
  4. Click Close.

The screen closes.

In the Display Swatch column select the check-box beside the Option you want the image to display for. Make sure that all the swatches you would like to display are selected,

Click Update Display Swatch to save the changes.

When swatches are enabled, the images of the option/finish display within the Product Catalog.
